Store safely

It is necessary that you store your loose gemstone the way yo bought it. You need to keep them away from sunlight because it can discolour your precious stones. There are also gems that draw moisture from the air so you need to avoid storing them in climate controlled areas. Always store your jewelry safely when not wearing it. Tossing your precious gemstones into any drawer or just a dish will be doing them a disservice. You need to make sure that your gemstones do not get any scratch. 

Be careful with the light

Sunlight can spell trouble for some gems. So you should avoid keeping them near the window when you are doing the dishes. Temperature changes when cleaning the gemstones should be avoided.  Changing from hot to cold will make some stones to break or crack.
