Cleaning your gemstones

Taking care of gemstones will make them last longer. Regular maintenance will preserve the stones beauty and shine. Cleaning the mystic topaz is not difficult and you only have to follow just a few simple steps. You will be amazed at just how shiny your stone will be once you are done cleaning. Here is a simple guide on cleaning your natural blue star sapphire or any other gemstone.

The first thing you have to do when cleaning your jewelry is to mix some warm water and mild dish detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they can cause damage to your natural gemstones for sale. You do not have to be precise when measuring the ratio of water to detergent. You can have about one part of the detergent and mix with two parts of water.

The next thing you have to do is to scrub the natural london blue topaz using a soft brittle toothbrush. Scrub the gemstone gently using the toothbrush to get rid of dirt and any debris. If you do not have a spare brush, you do not have to worry; you can use your make up brush to clean the gemstone. Put the jewelry briefly in the solution for it to get wet. You can also opt to applying water to your toothbrush.

Once you are done with cleaning, you need to rinse your natural pink tourmaline. Make sure you do not leave any soap in the precious stone. The final step is patting dry your gemstone. It is not advisable to leave the gemstone to air dry and it can get damaged. Always use a clean cloth to dry you natural gemstone. Keep dabbing it until there is no moisture left on your jewelry.

If you are unable to get rid of the dirt with routine cleaning, you need to soak your natural rainbow moonstone. Soak it in three parts hot water and one part dish detergent. Make sure that the gemstone is fully submerged in the mixture. Let it sit in the mixture for a few minutes. Rinse the stone under running water. Pat it dry using a clean cloth. If soaking it still does not work, then you need to take your gemstone to the jeweler. The jeweler will use high pressure steam to clean it. 

Ammonia and sensitive chemical can damage sensitive gems like amber or pearl. You can use a toothpick to pick out any accumulation which you cannot reach using your soft bristle toothbrush. You have to exercise caution so that you do not cause harm to the gemstone. You have to be very patient when cleaning the stone using the toothpick. You should also avoid radical temperature changes.

As you can see cleaning your natural smoky quartz is not a difficult task. You will be amazed at how easy it is to clean them. Cleaning them regularly will make them look shiny and last longer. Follow the above guide and you will get your gemstone looking shiny once again.
